Keep the bowl of hard soap right next to the sink. If washing a lot of dishes, fill up a container with hot water and dip the sponge in that to wash. To wash a few dishes, there no need to fill the bowl. Simply, wet the sponge with hot water and rub it on the hard soap until it begins to foam.

When done washing dishes, drain excess water from the dish. This will extend the life of the soap.
